Conventionally smaller cars are embedded with four speakers along with their sound systems. You can start out by upgrading these speakers which should improve the sound quality in your car. However if you want to increase the over all sound quality then you need to incorporate a few more things. Even if your small car has a CD player it is more than likely that it will not be able to deliver optimum sound performance. Car manufacturers are more concerned with the performance of the vehicle rather than the performance of the sound system. What you can do is upgrade the CD system and get one that delivers 50watts per channel.

Larger cars offer a lot more room for improvisation. Depending upon the size of your cars you can have anywhere between 6 to 8 speakers in your car. However if you are looking to upgrade the system it is not absolutely necessary to replace all the speakers. What you can do instead is incorporate a couple or maybe four new ones and let the remaining be.

In order to really enhance the performance of the audio system you can incorporate a sub-woofer which is fitted in the boot. Depending upon the size of the sub-woofer your sound system will be able to produce a significant amount of bass. You will however need to add an amplifier to support the car subwoofers and this combination will produce a really powerful system that will deliver optimal sound quality in your ride.

Just because your car does not come embedded with a brilliant sound system does not mean you have to compromise on sound quality. Rather you can easily acquire all the essential accessories that can help to enhance your car's sound system to give you an excellent listening experience as you cruise down the road.
